Abstract
The 4th Austrian-Hungarian Workshop on Celestial Mechanics took place from the 23rd - 25th of June 2005 in Budapest, Hungary. The host institute was at this time the Department of Astronomy of the Eötvös University. The participants were the members of the two working groups of celestial mechanics and dynamical astronomy both at the host institute and in the Institute for Astronomy of Vienna University. The talks covered a broad field of actual problems of celestial mechanics. In connection with the dynamics of the Solar system, the time evolution of the rotational motion of irregular satellites, the orbit determination of near-Earth asteroids, the dynamical behaviour and stability of Trojan asteroids, and the determination of the secular frequencies of the planetary system were discussed. Several talks dealt with the extrasolar planetary systems, including the stability of the habitable zones of multiple planet systems, the dynamical behaviour of planetary motions arond binary star systems, the possibility of the existence of Trojan exoplanets, and the dynamical consequences of a stellar intruder on a planetary system. General problems were also discussed, such as the comparison of different chaos detecting methods, chaotic behaviour in the Sitnikov-problem, and the Lie-integration of linearized equations. The interesting discussions were continued in the evenings in the traditional way (see the proceedings of the 2nd and 3rd workshop) in friendly atmosphere. The organization of the workshop was made possible by the support of the "Stiftung Aktion Österreich-Ungarn" under the grant 59öu10. The investigations on the exoplanetary systems were carried out in the framework of the "Dynamics of Exoplanetary Systems" project supported by the "Austrian-Hungarian Scientific and Technological Foundation" under the grant A-12/04
